I didn't use any setting lower than 12 on the finest hair, and I used tons of hairspray (one squirt while the hair was still on the barrel and another after I unwound the hair and glitter spray on top of that) to keep the curls through 2 shows a day. This is a good price for a good product but I don't know if this level of glycolic acid is strong enough for that use. A high 12% or higher lactic acid lotion like amlactin is probably your best bet for skin on your body. This is good for the face, gentle and doesn't cause ridiculous peeling/flaking skin and is a good way to build up your tolerance to acids, at least it did for me.
